Whew…some of you are in survival mode and have been for some time. I keep getting an image of an action movie where the hero jumps on balconies, flips off platforms, dives under trucks, etc., as they dodge bullets, bombs, or whatever danger they are facing. They do just enough to (barely) stay in front of the danger and keep from getting killed, until they are in a safe place.
You may be feeling like this, like you are never a safe distance from a difficult situation but are managing to stay just ahead of it and if you stop or slow down, you’re going to be overtaken. It’s a constant fight to keep your head above water (which could literally be depression) and you may be so used to dodging bullets and struggling that it’s become a de facto way of life for you.
I’ve been there, done that, got the soundtrack and the T-shirt (and high blood pressure, but that’s a whole ‘nother story).
In the midst of the struggle, you need to breathe and stop, even if it’s just for 30 minutes. Take some time to calm yourself so that you can think clearly. I know this is a hard ask when you are trying to juggle a lot of things and keep everything from crashing to the ground, but that’s when you most need to get your mind right.
Notice that there is no fire in this reading. That “keep it moving”, “hustle and flow” energy is not needed at this time, even though you may feel like it is. Go lay down, take a nap, rest your eyes, relax for a minute.
